Sorry folks; once again, there are issues with the blog. Different ones.
As soon as I approve a comment it flips back to pending and I can’t post replies to your comments, either.
I’m also getting “warning” messages in the back office that mean nothing to me so I’ve asked LW29501/Patrick to look into it.
And since we’re here… a couple of readers have said they disapprove of some of the advertisements. I don’t get to choose the ads. I don’t have anything to do with the selection process so I don’t know what Google’s Adsense clients are submitting to be served.
Since ads are contextual, you will not only see ads related to the posts, but also relevant to online searches you’ve done. They track all that if you aren’t using a private search tool like Start Page or Duck Duck Go.
If you want to notify me of an advertisement you find offensive, you have to send me the URL of the ad after you’ve clicked on it. Send that to me in a comment to any post. I won’t approve it, and no one will see it but me.
I then submit that URL to Google Adwords via their online form and ask them to block it.
That is the ONLY way I can eliminate an advertisement.
Hopefully we will rectify the comment approval problem quickly. ~ BP

Hi Molly …. i have found that you can click on the little arrow usually at the top right of the ad and it can (1) show a red ‘x’ that you can say you don’t like that ad then it will ask why and give you 3 options or (2) will take you to a page that gives you 3 options. i have had this work also when i go to other sites and they are showing offensive ads. the offensive ads for dating women has dropped to near zero.
don’t know whether this helps or not … i use yahoo mail and chrome browser.
Try “Ghostery”dotcom for issues of management of cookies. I see no advertisements here. Choose and pick what to block. Just FYI.
