Update: October 3, 4:08 pm Pacific: I see there is a text message on my dumb phone about the Presidential Alert, although as so often happens, when it’s text, I don’t get alerted when it comes through. I just happen to find it after the fact. I don’t text. The phone is strictly for emergencies and need to have.
Yes, the FEMA emergency alert went out. Apparently not all cell phones received it. I did not, but I turned the TV on and a local Phoenix station ran the leader with voice saying it was a test that would run from 11:20 am to 11:50 am. I assume part of the test was ongoing in the background.
Now that they know it works/did not work the way they wanted, they can prepare for the day when they have an actionable message for us.
We have continual problems with our comms where I am. Our land line is out again; no dial tone. Unbelievable. It has been down more than up these past 10 days.
